TWO men and a woman have been charged by police over child sex offences as part of an operation which has now seen 19 people arrested.

Qurban Ali is on the committee of Rotherham Private Hire Drivers Association and drives for Goldstar Taxis.
Karen McGregor is known within Taxi trades over 40 years she has worked in every Asian taxi base and is allegedly, known for grooming underage girls.
She worked number of years as an operator for Jahnghir Akhtar.

I don’t think if right to put her daughter’s name on here she’s not been charged or questioned about operation clover as far as I’m aware and to say where she work’s not a very good idea!

I don’t know any of those people charged today (i’ve met Sajid Bostan twice in Shahjahan which is next to the Goldstar town rank).
But as an Asian taxi driver I suppose the vast majority of this site’s readers will trot out the old ‘I should have done more to stop them’ routine and assume due to the colour of my skin that i’m guilty by association.
The first time I knew anything of Sajid Bostan’s past activities was when I read it in the Star last week. In fact i’ve now learned quite a bit from reading back through blogs on here.
I guess i’m still guilty by association eh?

He once swore to Taxi Drivers and majority of the drivers left and opened Millenium Taxis which is now known as FastFours

I’m no victim. You and I both know that the only victims here are the poor girls who got abused. I’m just annoyed that a vast majority of people who frequent this site believe it was the vast majority of taxi drivers who abused people when Infact it’s just a minority who’ve doing all these crimes that the rest of us innocent taxi drivers are being dammed by.
For the record I support in-car CCTV aswell.

How many taxi drivers in Rotherham? How many suspected perpetrators has the NCA inquiry identified? How many of those suspects are taxi drivers? And you want us to believe they’re being picked on? Get real.

No not guilty from what you say but if you are strongly against the changes that need to be put in place then there is an issue.
After reading all about it and considering the extent of what has happened I think the CCTV should be installed for the safety and future protection of both passengers and drivers.
Where money is concerned how come most taxi drivers are better off than sown of the public who are in well paid jobs?
If taxi drivers want a fair and just process that is transparent then they should have no objection.

Qurban Alis son was the one beat up Zar phonix taxis relative in barbershop in ferham with baseball bat.
And got away with it as Jahngir was there to cover tracks.

Are all those posing with Jimmy Saville, or part of gushing tributes to him on his death, guilty of colluding with the abuse he carried out? We can all have some connection or relationship with someone who may have a more dubious or criminal side to them, we may not have been aware of.

When these perpetrators are having meetings and knowingly the public turn up to vote or discuss taxi issues is ok?
When taxi drivers discuss this with others and then try to justify or portion blame to others is ok?

Wouldn’t life be so simple with hindsight, or even better people with the powers to stop an evil, actually were brave enough to exercise that power and prevent all this unwanted suffering. Then perhaps the Jimmy Savilles and the Pakistani abusers could’ve and would’ve been stopped from making the life of 1000’s, maybe 10000’s of poor innocent children and their families a living nightmare. Sometimes prevention is better than a cure.

It is Quurban Ali’s rights, that are being protected here, his right to justice.
Once any proceedings have been completed, your ablity to share your opinions, will be restored.
I would point out, Ali, Akhtar and Hussain have not been charged with any crime, at least not yet, therefore sub judice rules do not apply currently to them.
